Aaron and I think we would like to do a dollar dance, but typically, you pay a dollar to dance with the bride/groom and get a shot. . . we aren't having alcohol. Do you think this would still be acceptable? Do you think it is a waste of time. I think sometimes people like this because they get a chance to dance with the bride and groom and talk to them a little bit more. I'm just trying to get a feeling for what's acceptable/what's not when there's no alcohol involved. Maybe we could have an alternative like chocolates or something? I am open to suggestions. Thanks,
Toaster

I've never actually heard of a dollar dance!
Hm, I think it'd be fun to pay with chocolates! Although I think that means you'd have to provide chocolates. I don't carry them with me very much. That could be expensive.
I like the idea of taking turns dancing with the bride and groom, but what about the people who don't have a dollar bill and only have 20's or no cash at all? As much as I love you, I am not paying $20 to dance with you at your wedding :-)
At my cousin's wedding, they just had a dance where people got in line and got to dance with the bride/groom for awhile. Depending on how many people are at your wedding, you may need more than one song though.
Dunno, those are my thoughts. And if you want a dollar for each dance, then do it! It's your wedding :-)
Most ppl are used to the dollar dance and prob will have a buck on them. As for the shot, why not do sparkling white grape juice? Bubbly and healthy to boot!
